Winter Workshop - Non-Traditional Sources of Conflict: 1997

Participants of the Winter Workshop on Sources of Conflict in South Asia: Terrorism, Human Security Issues, Governance, Gender Security and Migration. The Winter Workshop on Source of Conflict in South Asia: Ethnicity, Refugees and Environment from 6 -16 March 1997 at The Tourmaline, Kandy, Sri Lanka. The keynote address at this event was delivered by Prof. Rajni Kothari. The winter course focused mainly on the findings of the Phase II of the Non-Traditional Security projects for South Asia that were funded by the Ford Foundations. The themes included:  Ethnicity and Religion, Refugees and Other Forms of Movement of Population, Resources, Development and Environment The Winter Workshop was held with the support of Friedrich-Naumann-Stiftung. 


The workshop attracted participants from several countries in South Asia.
