Report : RCSS Ranks high among top global Think-Tanks

The Regional Centre for Strategic Studies (RCSS) based in Colombo has secured six ranks in the latest Global Think-Tank Index Report by the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Programme (TTCSP), University of Pennsylvania. The United Nations and United Nations University hosted the launch of the report in New York on 22 January 2014.

RCSS is the only think-tank in the South Asian region to be ranked in as many as six categories: Top think tanks in the Asia and the Pacific; Top defense and national security think-tanks; Top foreign policy and international affairs think-tanks; Best think-tank conference; Best think-tank network and Best use of social networks. Last year RCSS had bagged three ranks.

The Global Think-Tank Index Report‘ is a result of one of the largest and comprehensive surveys of over 6,000 think-tanks in an effort to sustain, strengthen and build capacity for think-tanks around the world. Two thousand plus scholars, journalists, policymakers, think-tank directors and donors representing all regions take part in its deliberations and over 1,950 functional area and regional specialists serve as expert panelists to rank the think-tanks.
