Prof. Amal Jayawardane and Mr. Chaminda Hettiarachchi represented RCSS at the Energy & Water Security Working Group Sessions of the Regional Network of Strategic Studies Centers (RNSSC) of the National Defense University which was held in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman from 10-12 April, 2011. The Working Groups will meet over a time period of 2 years and develop strategies for overcoming energy security challenges for the countries of the Middle East and South Asia. During the meeting, the participants discussed the concept of energy and water security, identified key issues for respective countries and regions and outlined an agenda to be followed over subsequent sessions. The next working group session will be held in Ankara, Turkey in July 2011.
